What Is Endoscopic Breast Augmentation?
An endoscopic breast augmentation (the "Endo Aug") is an excellent option for most women considering breast augmentation. During an endoscopic augmentation procedure, Dr. Cambeiro creates a small incision under the armpit, through which he passes an endoscope (a tiny camera with a light attached) to guide him as he performs the surgery.
Compared to traditional breast augmentation, endoscopic breast augmentation has many advantages:

- Recovery is shorter and more comfortable
- The risk of many post-surgical complications is reduced

Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation for breast enlargement at our Las Vegas area practice, Dr. Cambeiro will discuss your expectations and the results you would like to see from your surgery. He will also review your medical history and evaluate your body to make sure the procedure will be safe and effective for you.
At this time, he will explain your breast implant options (saline or silicone gel), as well as implant size and placement. If endoscopic breast augmentation is appropriate for you, Dr. Cambeiro will provide thorough information about the surgery, including pre-surgery instructions, procedural steps, and possible complications.
Endoscopic Breast Augmentation Procedure
Dr. Cambeiro will begin by making a tiny incision in the natural crease of the armpit, called an axillary incision. Through this incision, he will gently ease the endoscope and surgical instruments into the breast implant site. Using the images from the endoscope to visualize the area, Dr. Cambeiro will carefully place the implant, fill and position it, and then close the incision. The endoscope enables Dr. Cambeiro to see the exact boundaries of the breast implant pocket so that he can precisely position the implant.
Recovery from Endoscopic Breast Augmentation
Recovery from the endoscopic procedure is similar to that of traditional breast augmentation, but usually progresses more quickly, allowing you to get back to work and your usual activities sooner.
During the recovery period, patients must wear a special surgical bra for support and refrain from strenuous activities for a few weeks. Any swelling or bruising will decrease gradually. Most regular activities can be resumed after a week or two.
