Incision Options for Breast Enlargement
Incision Location
For your breast augmentation in Las Vegas, you have three main options for incision placement:
- Periareolar Incision: This incision is made around outer edge of the areola, allowing excellent access and resulting in well-concealed, minimal scarring. Compared to other incision placements, this may have a higher likelihood of interfering with breastfeeding and causing decreased nipple sensation.
- Inframammary Crease Incision: This incision is created in the natural crease where the breast meets the chest. The inframammary crease incision offers excellent control over implant positioning, leaving a scar that is difficult to detect in most patients. However, not all patients are good candidates for this incision because it requires a certain amount of natural breast tissue to sufficiently conceal the incision.
- Axillary Crease Incision: This incision is created in the natural crease of the armpit and should only be used during endoscopic breast augmentation in Las Vegas. Despite this incision's relative distance to the breast, endoscopic equipment enables Dr. Cambeiro to visualize the implant pocket while he's creating it. The resulting scar will be well concealed in the armpit.
