The Procedure
How Breast Augmentation Is Performed
During your consultation, Las Vegas plastic surgeon Dr. Cambeiro will perform a complete medical history and examination, and he will discuss your surgical goals so that you obtain the results you want from your breast enlargement in Las Vegas. With the information he gains from your consultation, he will develop a treatment plan for your specific needs.
Incision Location
During the breast augmentation procedure, Dr. Cambeiro will create incisions through which he will insert your implants. You have three main options regarding incision placement, which include the inframammary crease incision, periareolar incision, or axillary crease incision. This decision will have been made prior to surgery.
Like the other decisions regarding breast augmentation, incision location depends on many factors, some of which include implant type and size, your unique anatomy, personal preference for scar location, relative importance of nipple sensation and amount of cleavage, or whether you will also undergo a concurrent breast lift in Las Vegas.
Implant Placement
Working through the incision, Dr. Cambeiro will lift your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket, either directly behind the breast tissue or underneath your chest wall muscle (the pectoral muscle). The breast implants are then centered beneath your nipples.
For breast enlargements in Las Vegas where breast implant is placed behind the muscle, a portion of the pectoralis muscle is divided to allow proper placement of the implant.
Closure
At this point in the procedure, Dr. Cambeiro can insert a pain pump to provide continuous relief during the first 48 to 72 hours following surgery. If another surgical procedure such as a breast lift is being performed at the same time, additional surgical steps will be performed.
Dr. Cambeiro will close the incisions with dissolvable stitches, which may also be taped for additional support. He may apply a gauze bandage over your breasts to assist with healing.
