We’re excited to introduce ThermiVa, the newest technology offered at our Las Vegas practice. This procedure has a RealSelf “Worth-It” rating of 93%. Why is this procedure getting so much buzz? Likely because the minimally-invasive and zero-downtime procedure helps with several issues that clients who come into my Las Vegas office often ask about, including:
- Lack of vaginal “tightness” due to aging or childbirth
- Vaginal dryness, and as a result, discomfort during intercourse
- Urinary leakage and/or urgency
What is ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is an FDA-approved procedure that can potentially help with one or all of the above. ThermiVa delivers radiofrequency to gently heat the tissue of the vaginal canal and external labia. This gentle heat promotes the growth of new collagen, tightening the tissue over time. It also helps increase blood flow and nerve supply. With repeated treatment, ThermiVa can significantly help with the effects of childbirth and/or aging.
What’s the procedure like?
Click here to watch a video about the procedure. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, requires no downtime, and isn’t painful. I typically recommend three treatments with four weeks between each treatment. Although you may experience results after one treatment, optimal results will likely be one to three months after the third treatment. I also usually recommend one treatment per year to maintain results.
What’s the difference between ThermiVa and a Labiaplasty?
ThermiVa is minimally-invasive and has zero downtime. It’s for clients who have mild symptoms of laxity, vaginal dryness, or incontinence. Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure for clients who wish to reduce extra skin in the labia minora area and may take up to six weeks of recovery time.
