The Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Blepharoplasty takes about one to two hours if your upper and lower eyelids are done at the same time. Dr. Cambeiro performs all surgeries at one of his two state-of-the-art surgical centers in Henderson or Las Vegas. He will likely use local anesthesia with oral sedation or general anesthesia for your comfort during the operation.

When combining upper and lower blepharoplasty, Dr. Cambeiro starts with the upper lids first.

He will then:

make his incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids to separate the skin from the underlying tissue.
remove any excess skin and fat (and muscle tissue if indicated).
close the incisions with tiny sutures.

A lower blepharoplasty employs multiple techniques. One involves an incision inside the lower eyelid to remove excess fat. This incision will be hidden and produce no visible scarring. Another method uses an incision along the eyelash margin to remove excess skin and fat. This cut line will fade after a short period of time.
