What Happens During The Pre-Operation Meeting?
If you decide to have a facelift operation after your consultation, we will answer any questions that weren’t covered during your initial visit. You will meet with a board-certified anesthesiologist who will explain your sedation process and answer any questions you may have.
What Happens During The Facelift Procedure?
Dr. Cambeiro employs two different techniques: the traditional facelift and the short scar or mini-facelift. After sedation, Dr. Cambeiro will make his initial incision to access tissue and muscle. Depending on the technique and the number of repositionings, the procedure can last between two and six hours.
Traditional Facelift
The traditional facelift incision begins at the temples and traces along the hairline, continues around the ear, and into the lower scalp. Dr. Cambeiro may reposition the fat from the jowls and around the neck to lift deeply layered muscles. Once this facial sculpting process is finished, he will drape the skin over the new facial contours and trim away any excess skin. Most of our patients return home on the same day as their surgery.
Short Scar or Mini-Facelift
The mini-facelift will tighten and reposition the underlying tissue and muscle with a smaller incision than the traditional facelift. Dr. Cambeiro will eliminate excess skin, then close with sutures.
What To Expect From The Facelift Recovery?
After surgery, you should plan to rest for recovery and healing. We will apply bandages to cover your face for a few days after surgery. You should expect some bruising and swelling, which will subside in a week or two.
For the few days after your surgery, we will prescribe medication to enhance your comfort. Also, we recommend cold compresses to reduce pain and swelling. You shouldn’t plan to exercise or perform strenuous activity for at least four weeks. We also ask you to sleep with your head elevated above your heart.

Can I pair fat grafting with my facelift?
You can also choose to add facial fat grafting to your facelift to augment your results. In this method, Dr. Cambeiro will use liposuction to remove fat from another area of your body. He will process the fat and then make small injections into specific areas of your face, such as the cheeks, lower eyelids, and other facial areas that will benefit from fat grafting. This method is safe, natural, and allows Dr. Cambeiro to provide you with the best result. Dr. Cambeiro will discuss this method with you in consultation to see if it is right for you.
How long will my results last?
Results from a facelift vary from patient to patient. Factors like health, skin elasticity, skin tone, lifestyle habits, and sun exposure all play a hand in how long your results will last. Most patients should expect the benefits to last at least ten years. Although a facelift will not stop the aging process going forward, expect to look ten years younger even after a decade.
Is there pain during facelift recovery?
Any discomfort you may experience after a facelift is usually tolerable and easily managed by prescribed medication.
When should I think about having a facelift in Las Vegas?

Should I have a facelift if I’m overweight?
We recommend that you be close to or at your optimal weight before having a facelift. When there is a significant weight loss after surgery, excess skin that is often created through weight loss may diminish your benefits.
Can I combine other procedures with my facelift?
