If you’ve decided to pursue breast augmentation, the first step is your initial consultation. At my Las Vegas-area practice, I try to create a comfortable space where you can speak openly about your goals. Here’s an overview of that process so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish.
We’ll have an open and honest conversation about what you envision for your breast augmentation. I’ll also give you time to ask any questions you may have regarding the procedure. Feel free to write down your questions ahead of time in preparation for your consultation.
Similar to a routine doctor’s appointment, we will review your medical and family history. I’ll also perform a physical exam to account for your current breast size, any laxity (sagging), and symmetry. Breast asymmetry is a common issue, and you may need implants of varying sizes to account for this. If you are experiencing issues with laxity, I may also suggest a breast lift to better position your nipples and improve your breast shape.
Trying on Implants
During the consultation, you’ll try on implant sizers, which will guide you in making your decision regarding implant size. This is one of the most exciting parts of the process for clients. My goal is to help you find a size that fits within the size range you desire and that’s in proportion to your body. The breast implant sizers will go in a bra, then over your own breasts. Plan to bring a fitted, solid color shirt to your visit, along with a non-padded bra.
After our conversation, you’ll receive an estimate regarding costs. Costs are factored by implant type and whether any other surgeries will be performed at the time of augmentation.
The items above cover the initial consultation with your plastic surgeon. My Las Vegas patients come back for a second consultation before scheduling surgery. At this follow-up consultation, we review the issues and decisions we discussed at the first consultation, as well as other in-depth information.
